The Form Block:
Forms are an extremely useful way of gathering information from visitors to your website in a uniform and highly organized manner.
When you create a form block a window appears giving you a list of different options, each a different manner of gathering information from your page’s visitor. On the right hand side of the page you can see a full visual representation of which each of these different options look like and how they behave. |

You can click on the Edit tab to return to an element of the form you have already created, change the page order, or delte an element.
The Preview tab allows you to see what your form will look like before you add it to your page.
The Options tab is extremely important as it allows you to create a title for your form, which is quite usefull if you have more than one form on your website. This allows you to differentiate between multiple forms on different pages. Under the options tab you can also change wheat message is displayed after a form is submitted, check the box to receive an email when the form is completed, and select the color style of the form. |

Collecting Form Submissions
Once users have filled out and submitted a complete form HotWax stores the data in the reports section. You can choose whether or not HotWax sends out an email to notify you when someone submits a form. Also, on the Site Activity window of your HotWax Dashboard there is a line that says “Total Form Submissions”. You can look at this line to see whether or not a user has submitted a new form since your last log in.
To view the data from a submitted form, begin by selecting the REPORTS link on the HotWax Dashboard. |
|
|
Next, you’ll see a list of the forms that you have stored on your website, listed by the title that you’ve given them. Clicking on view responses will present a list of all the different form submissions that have been made. |
|
|
Finally, if you wish to view the information that the user submitted in their form click on the link that says “View All Fields”. This will expand the form you wish to look at and allow you to view all of the answers to the questions you created that the user has answered. |
